Read Across America Day

Friday March 1st was Read across America Day. We had a guest reader in Pre k, Ms. Hyland. She is an ELL teacher here at Riverton and gave a great Maine reading of The Wicked Big Toddler by Kevin Hawkes. Ms. Hyland wrote a grant and was able to get Mr. Hawkes, a Maine author  to Visit Riverton School. He worked with the older students and explained how an author/illustrator comes up with ideas and writes a book.
